With only 9 races out of 32 in the 2018 European Championship season, Anthony Janiec is ranked 12th in the overall FIA ranking.
The Lion Truck Racing driver confirmed times worthy of the European TOP 10 after his third participation in the FIA European Championship this weekend in Jarama (ESP). This last European round was marked by many contacts between the European teams given the stakes between 2nd and 3rd place.
Anthony Janiec set excellent times at the 2 Superpoles du Grand Prix: 8th on Saturday in 1'58''507 and 8th on Sunday in 1'58''133. One of the victims of a heavy collision at the start of race 1 which left 5 trucks on the side, the whole team ensured an emergency return to the stand under red flag to change a damaged wheel and allow it to resume the race. Anthony had to start at the bottom of the peloton in 18th position but he quickly climbed 8 places to finish 10th. Following an additional collision on race 3 where the German driver André KURSIM pushed Anthony off-track (Kursim was penalized), the team leaders decided not to start race 4 in order to preserve the truck for the French Championship final but also to leave the teams competing in the entire European Championship to fight each other.
The priority is now given to the preparation of the final of the French Truck Championship in Albi on 13 and 14 October for the two Lion Truck Racing drivers: Anthony Janiec #1 and Téo Calvet #20.
