Lion Truck Racing in Jarama for the final round of the ETRC

After winning Le Mans 24H Camions last week, Anthony Janiec participated in the final round of the European Truck Racing Championship in Jarama.

Saturday started with two free practice sessions in the morning under the sun.

The qualifying session 1 allowed French driver Anthony Janiec to start the Race 1 in 12th position. After good overtakings, he crossed the finish line in the tenth place and scored his first points of the weekend. In Race 2, the Anthony Janiec left P10 and finished in 7th place in a race marked by a red flag in the first lap. On Sunday, Anthony Janiec took the start of the Race 3 in eleventh position after the qualifying session 2. A shorter race than expected for the Team. Indeed, following a plastic piece having obstructed the radiator, the engine heated up and the Team preferred to return to the garage in order to preserve the machine. The last race of the season demonstrated the Team's hard work and perseverance by allowing Anthony Janiec to drive the No. 6 truck, despite the mechanical problem that occurred two hours earlier. Started from the last position, he finished this race in ninth position.

The European Truck Racing Championship season is over. Next weekend, the Lion Truck Racing will go to the Circuit of Albi, for the Final round of the French Truck Championship.

"Overall the meeting went very well. My pace was less sustained in qualifying session, which does not allow us to take part of the Top 10 of the four races. We still finished P10 in Race 1, P7 in Race 2. In Race 3, a collision forced us to retire and made us start in last position in Race 4. Overall the whole Team is very happy with the results. We only participated in half of the ETRC rounds, that can also explain our pace on the track. I was instructed not to take too much risk for the final round next weekend. I am looking forward to the GP Camions of Albi!"

ANTHONY JANIEC, TRUCK N. 6 DRIVER

"Our goal was to compete at the European Truck Racing Championship, and I'm glad we did it. The final round of the French Truck Championship will take place next week, we had to be careful with the machine, not to get involved in collisions, which Anthony has brilliantly done. Thus, it was better to abandon in Race 3 to avoid more damages on the truck. We learned a lot during this round."

JONATHAN ANDRÉ, TEAM MANAGER

"I am very happy to see how efficient and professional the Team is. Following a mechanical problem in Race 3, the mechanics and engineers did an amazing job to allow the truck to run in Race 4. The work done in less than two hours is remarkable! Now, let's focus on the final round of the French Truck Championship that awaits us in less than a week in Albi!"
